I have a fresh install of Windows 8.1 Pro. I'm attempting to get my GPU(R9 270x) working through catalyst. I've tried several solutions offered on different forums.

At first my GPU would not show up at all in devices, so I completely removed all files related to the Intel driver already installed. Now my GPU shows up as Video Controller(VGA compatible) under Other Devices.

When I attempt to install Catalyst I get all the way through the installation where it say "Installation complete(warnings occurred during installation). When I view the log nothing indicates an error. But it doesn't work either.

I've done system restores, attempted to install in safe mode, tried earlier version of catalyst, stopped automatic driver updates.....any suggestion would be helpful

1. Make sure it is pushed all the way into your motherboard.
2. Check and make sure the DVI cable or VGA cable is fully pushed in.
3. Reinstall windows.
4. If all else fails, send it back for a new one.

I did as you suggested, did not solve my issue. I have six of the GPU's, this is not a hardware issue unless they are all broken. Catalyst just will not install correctly.
