Is It Safe to Unplug A Serial Card From My Pci Express x16

i have dell optiplex 760 minitower and i wanna upgrade my graphcis
and the serial is in the way in the 2nd slot,and i have to unplug it for the grapghics card to fit,it is plugged into my mother board via ribbon cable.i s it ok to move the card out of its place.

if you can move it out of the way then do that, but this is the ribbon from your hard drive or dvd drive to your mobo right?

I assume you mean a serial backplate that connects to a motherboard header.
This is no reason you cannot move it

where does it lead to? and there is a 99.99% chance that it is totally ok to unplug it, cuz as long as the power is off, you can take it all apart.
