Did I fry/almost kill my CPU?

I have an FX 8350, which notoriously runs hot for the series. After rebuilding PC, slipped up and forgot to plug H100i in. Turn on PC (fast boot with SSD) saw HWinfo reporting 80c, IMMEDIATELY held down power button and shut it down. Wasn't any load on it, and THANKFULLY wasn't overclocked at that moment.

Booted up with it plugged in and it seem fine. Ran prime95 for about 10 min, and all seemed fine. Am I in the clear here? Any possible damage for being hot for such a short period?

Nah, not at all.... It just can handle that heat for moments if you dont put any load on it. Also recent processors have thermal security which will downclock the CPU or even turn off itself before any damage occur. So you are good to go.
