Hi guys just a quick post of my components for a new build ill be hoping to start soon. As its my first build and costing me quiet a bit of money i am very cautious towards my components being compatible with each other. My biggest concerns are firstly the GPU and CPU being compatible with my motherboard. Secondly would be the motherboard and GPU actually fitting into this case. List of components below. Would greatly appreciate some help with this Thanks!.

CPU: AMD FX 8350 Black Edition (Socket AM3+)
GPU:ASUS Radeon R9270X DC2-2GD5 PCI-E
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 Socket AM3+ - ATX
Hardrive: Western Digital Green - 1TB
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB - PC3-12800 - DIMM
PSU: Antec High Current Gamer HCG-620M - 620 Watt
DVD Burner: Asus DRW-24F1ST - DVD Burner
OS: windows 8 (64bit)
Case: CiT Vantage Midi Mesh Gaming Case- Link to case==> http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0071KZNUY/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_C

Hope i have provided enough information needed any questions will be answered as soon as possible once again thanks in advance!

I recently used a site like that and there was a problem it said
'Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs'
And also said 'Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the CiT Vantage ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports'

That is actually true you may need to update the BIOS on your mobo to be able to use your CPU

You can ignore the USB thing, not a big deal. The BiOS thing may by something to worry about. I can't say if this is the actual way, but you have to go to the Mobo's manufacturer's website, download the update onto a USB, and plug it in into the computer once it boots up. That's what I am finding, but someone should confirm. The warning also says some mobo's, but better to be safe than sorry right?

I am far from being tech savy so this BIOS update how exactly is it done? Sorry if its a stupid question:)
And the USB problem simply means i don't have USB capabilities in the front of my case right?

He wanted to know how to update without a compatible CPU. BIOS would need updates before Vishera chip was placed in board.

No, at worst you'll need to buy a cheap cheap cheap CPU that goes/is compatible with your MoBo.

Plug that into the board, run the updates.

Then place your CPU into the board and I'd suggest a fresh install.

No, just no.

The MSi 970a-43 catches fire when put under stress.

Just no bud, don't even go near that board...

XxD34THxX, you need to go and read some threads some more before posting like that, I made the same mistake and I've made many mistakes, but I've lingered around this site and read and read.

I know man, I and many others have made the same mistake, I always facepalm when I see it posted cause I feel like in the OC world it's kinda a long running MSi bane of existence xD among other boards of course xD

lol this, and the support from MSI is horrible.

I guess the OP didn't read a word that was said about the MSi 970A-G43 being a terrible board...

I really hope you didn't buy it, best of luck if you did.

If you did, try to RMA as it isn't worth it at all, the board catches fire when under stress.

Best regards, Vel.
