I have been searching and searching everywhere for information about how to fix this problem. Everyday for the past 2 months+, my internet drops for about 15-20 seconds every 15-20 minutes. For general internet browsing, this isn't an issue; However, for gaming it is a pretty big issue being that my disconnect and try to reconnect for 15-20 seconds. I have tried to narrow down the problem, but I am all out of ideas. Below are a list of things I have done to try and troubleshoot the issue.

Replaced older Ethernet cables
Got new router
Got a new modem
had ISP technician replace any possible faulty wiring
I've reset my modem and router 100 times each probably
Messed around with the splittler I have to see if the problem persisted and it did
connect directly to the router to see if the problem persisted and it did

I don't know much about modems or networking or the internet outside of playing games and browsing websites, but from the knowledge I have and research I have done, it seems like the modem is the main reason behind this issue. I don't know if I was just unlucky and the replacement modem I got was just as faulty, or if there is some setting I can somehow tweak to change the IP Lease times and what not. Additionally, and I guess it could be linked with what I just said, but I was informed that our IP is either changing or is being used somewhere else because secure sites like banking websites warn us that we are using a different IP everytime we try to log in and we have to set up our wireless network on almost a daily basis due to it not being the same IP everyday.

If what I last mentioned seems like it could be my problem, any information on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That's why, it's Comcast bud, make sure you aren't using their modem/router and pickup a USB WiFi dongle and run that as well as LAN.

And I'm in no way knocking Comcast, I have Comcast and it's the best ISP in my area.

If you are referring to a modem/router combo that they offer, we do not have one of those. If you are just saying I should get my own modem I am considering it but didn't want to run out and get one if that isn't going to fix the issue. If you think it will I will give it a shot. Is there one that you or anyone else would suggest getting if I get my own modem?
