I have an old rig and I'm looking to replace the gpu(Gigabyte 8400 GS 128mb on-brd). After lots of research, I'm looking at Geforce Gt 430,530,620, 630(leaning toward 620 w/ GF108 arch). Basically, 1) I want to run L4D2, Fallout:Vegas, and Sniper Elite Nazi, on medium settings, decent performance. 2) wondering if I get by w/ only 16A. What's your opinion?

Rig: Opitplex 330 DT
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 @2.53 Ghz
2Gb Ram
32 bit sys Vista
280W 12V/16A

I had a GT 430 for two years, hell of a card. Still runs well today. And it blows away the 620 in most categories. http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GT-620-vs-GeForce-GT-43...

You might be able to get by with 16, someone on this thread (http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/need-some-hel...) got by using 18. A new power supplpy might be worth the money though, you can get a quality one for $25 now. Or buy the video card first, test it, and if it doesn't power up, buy the power supply then.

I would recommend a 460w psu cool master and pair it with gt 630 for 90 and you will be all set.

Take a 630 if you can afford, but you should start to look for a new psu. Even 620 requires 300w supply. But yeah, test it with the old one, maybe it would work stable.
