I just got a new Corsair HX1050w PSU, and have been going up and down the internet looking for a way to turn on its fan. It has never worked, right out of the box.

Corsair says it is a Hybrid Tech, and it only turns on when it is needed, but it has NEVER turned on, even for games.

We're talking ten minutes old. I know that I must be missing something amazingly obvious, and I've been in my BIOS on Startup trying to find any kind of control button, but it eludes me. I've been on every tech forum known to man (maybe not).

I now ask you, Oh Tom's Hardware, for help.

My specs:
Gigabye Z87-D3HP
Haswell i7-4700k
Radeon 7850
16GB RAM, Corsair Vengeance
120GB Samsung SSD
1TB 5200rpm WD HDD

fan turns on based on internal temp of psu/ load. There is NO way for you to control it manually. It is hardwired internally. The reason why it has not turned on is that your probably using about 300W during gaming, which is nothing for the 1050w psu. Usually they are designed to turn on at about 30-40% load.

Hmmm.

So that's not the reason my temps have been jumping to 71 degrees since install... hm....
