Hello, I've been having problems with my new PC connecting to my wireless network. It's mostly a adapter problem. I have tried at least 3 different brands of network adapters and they each had problems staying connected to my wireless network. The first one I brought would stay connected to my network for a few days before losing performance and then eventually disconnecting from my network. When that would happen I wasn't able to reconnect from Windows 8. If I restarted started the computer it would still not reconnect. The only way I would be able to get get it to reconnect was if I pulled the adapter out of the USB slot and plug it back in. At that point the name of my network would reappear with Windows 8 and I would be able to reconnect again. That would happen every few days, and it got really aggravating so I brought a new adapter from a different brand. That second adapter wouldn't even show the networks after installing it. So I returned it and brought a new one from another brand that I had not yet tried. The new one works, but only stays connected for a few hours.

When I first had problems with the first adapter staying connected I took the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Called my wireless service provider. They said that the signal is fine after rebooting it, from what they could tell on their end. My other desktops and mobile devices work just fine on my network.

2. I downloaded all Windows 8 updates.

3. I downloaded all the latest drivers for my motherboard, and each of the USB adapters when I tried them.

Does anyone know what the problem could be here? I'm having this problem with Windows 8. My motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3.

I'm not sure how to use the program. However all my other USB devices work just fine. Is there any other way for me to make sure the adapter is receiving enough power. If there is a problem with the power is there anything I can do to adjust it.

I just did that. There a whole bunch of values for voltage, none of which are for USB. Which one should I look at?

i seen that the 3 volt line read only 2.0 did not see any readings for the 12 volts line report under the ati pm2 you should read the vcore the +3.3 and the 12 volt there and core o-1-4 are at low speed and core 2-3-6 at full speed they should be all at the same speed unless you have some settings in that cpu i never seen ,i would try another psu in the system for test also waht is the cpu you have .

I don't have another PSU to try. If I brought a powered USB Hub, would that help for the network adapter?

I will have to buy a new power supply, and I don't want to do that. My PC is working fine except for the wireless network at times. What is wrong with my power supply and is it ok for me to still use it. What could happen if I continue to use it?

Also, I read around that if my USB port isn't receiving enough power due to poor wiring, I should get a powered USB hub, which is plugged into an electric socket and the PC, so it has its own power. Do you think that's a good idea?

keep this psu for now since the system work with ,that could help but something came to my mind reading back the post they reset the wireless router and tell signal is good on ther end could it be that there wireless router could not support all the device connected to it and not made to work with windows 8 also did you check the wi-fi dongle you have if they are made to work with win 8 or need a firmware or driver update for them. i suggest you try a dsl test will all your wireless device one at the time and copare to your win 8 system the other thing why you dont get a internal pci wireles card other then buying the hub she will take power from the motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=pci+wireless+network+card&N=-1&isNodeId=1
