I have an intel core 2 duo e 8400 at 3Ghz. I've never overclocked it in my life. Today I noticed that every time I tried to play a game it would play at about 10% speed. I right click on computer, hit properties, and it says my CPU is running at 13.04Ghz!!!! How do I reverse this?

Solution
that is simply not possible and must be a bug in the system reading the clock speed. the fasted recorded clock speed was around 8.5 ghz on a single core at insanely high voltages and with liquid nitrogen cooling. There is no way your cpu is running at that speed. you should try reinstalling your motherboard drivers and see if that clears up the issue, if not then reinstall windows.

rest assured that your cpu isn't running at 13.04 ghz or anywhere close to it unless you have the most amazingly efficient cpu ever created :p
