Hesitant on Purchasing Windows 8.1.

Hey so I am building a new computer and I am having the toughest time deciding on buying windows 7 or 8.1. I have heard of start 8 and what not, but the thing I am worried about is only the gui. I really don't like the tiles and log in screen. Any help is appreciated.

Actually, It performs better than Windows 7.

Either way, you get used to the interface quickly, and when you go back to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you'll find yourself looking to do things how you do them in Windows 8.1 and you can't.

There are good and bad points to all operating systems.

Also, Windows 8.1.2? or whatever it will be called, will be released to the public in about 34 days on April 8.
There will be more improvements included in it.

You can go into a win7 ''style'' on windows 8 by hitting the windows key on the keyboard but i hate win8, I would recommend win7. + Windows 8 is what people call modern vista, that's why Microsoft are already developing windows 9.

Win8 is the modern vista, It's buggy and it is no where near as popular and doesn't perform as well as windows7

8 performs about the same as windows 7 (although most say that boot times have improved a fair bit). Aside from the rare incompatibility with some of my older games I havent had an issue with it yet

Anyhow, it is a matter of personal preference to the o.p., so if you don't like it, then don't get it. That's about all that we can say. Use someone else's Windows 8.1 for a while. Use Internet Explorer in both the Desktop version and the Modern Start screen.
