R9 290X worth it?

I heard at it's price it gives the Titan a run for it's money and is above or even with the 780ti

How accurate is this information?

The R9 290x is less powerful than the 780ti, and the price on it will only continue to go up due to bitcoining, so I would recommend a 780 Ti instead.

I personally would CrossfireX with two 280X'x for around the same price although I prefer Nvidia so the equivalent would be maybe two 770s in SLI, they would perform better than a single 290x. Although with AMD mantle two 280Xs would still be a fantastic choice!

It was either here on Tom's or at PC Gamer; they found that the R9 290 (non-x) was nearly s fast as the x, ran a bit cooler and was considerably less money.
