When I wanted to save a pic from the Internet, I used to hit "save as" and I got a lot of options, among others jpeg. Now out of a sudden , there are only the options PNG and bmp displayed.
I hope someone has the patience to explain a 75-year-old woman how to get this option back.
Your help will be very much appreciated.

The short answer is you can't.

The long answer is, that it isn't something that you have any control over. When someone makes a webpage, they can include image files on the webpage. Image files come in all sorts of different formats, one of which is jpeg. PNG and bmp are two others. What you see in the save as dialog box is whatever the person uploaded. If the picture they uploaded is in PNG format, when you do save as, that is what it is going to give you. In this case, it can't save as jpeg because the picture isn't a jpeg.
If for whatever reason it is important to you that the image be a jpeg, you can save as whatever image type it actually is, and then use a program to convert it to jpeg.

Thanks so much for your fast reply and please, don't think I don't appreciate it, but the pics I want to save are actually uploaded in jpeg and I used to have the option, it just somehow disappeared.

Well then post the link to the webpage that has the picture, and tell us what browser you are using.
As well, how are you so certain the pictures are jpeg? It isn't that I doubt you, just, the browser is telling you the picture is not a jpeg; unless you are the one that uploaded it why do you doubt the browser?

Incidentally, if you are using Internet Explorer a good place to start would be to clear your temporary internet files.
Internet Options > Delete > check off temp internet files, UNCHECK preserve favorites, and click delete. Close, go back in and test it.

Okay yes you need to clear your temporary internet files.

Go to Internet Options click Delete check off temp internet files, UNCHECK preserve favorites, (the other check boxes leave as they are) and click delete. Close ALL your internet explorer windows, then open it back up and it should work.

Please accept my apologies for not having answered earlier.
My PC has the commands in Spanish, but that's what I did:
1. Open Internet Options
2. I clicked delete temp internet files
3. There is one "head option" and 7 boxes
4. I delete the tick on the head option and put a tick in the first three other boxes.
Sorry, but it still doesn't work.
I do understand if you won't spend more time in solving my problem, nevertheless I would appreciate your help very much.
