Best cpu for an AMD Radeon 7970

Hi everyone, i was wondering what would the best cpu be to pair with my XFX AMD Radeon 7970, i am upgrading my pc from an AMD A10 and an ATI 7570 Graphics card, if my processor can handle my 7970, I'll keep it, also, my budget for a processor and a mother board is just over £200 maybe £250.

I would love to hear any answers, thanks!

Now, that is a very good combination for the price and the CPU is the k version, so it is unlocked and ready for OC, it will be a great option with the 7970 and with no bottleneck whatsoever. The i5 is also a titan in games and will beat any AMD CPU. The motherboard is also great.

Yes the 4670k is GREAT but you will not be overclocking it on a H87 motherboard. You need a Z87 motherboard if you want to overclock. If you don't want to overclock, I recommend the $190ish i5-4570 or the $240ish Xeon e3-1230v3 depending on your budget.

You can get the 4670k and this Z87 motherboard for under you budget. You can get the best performance from your i5 with this Z87 chipset and you will be able to get the best overclock possible
