Hi,

Built a pc as below as my old pc (4 yrs old 775 died):

Asus z87-pro mobo
Asus hd7870 dc 2gb ddr5 v2
8gb corsair vengeance 1600
Corsair 120gb ssd (boot drive)
Intel i5 4570 cpu
Running latest bios.

I had system working (win 8.1 64b) but noticed some graphic corruption so rebooted. After that I cannot get system to boot into windows when display drivers are installed (crashes at windows splash screen).

I have replaced the psu.

I did a fresh install of win 7 (64) after which installed latest amd driver. This time I got bsod 16 code.

Can use safe mode and run pc normally but only if amd driver removed....

One other thing. My original pc had bsod 16 tdr so I replaced the 9800gt gpu with a new Asus hd7750 gpu. This pc worked for a couple of hours then bsod 16. Therefore I assumed mobo was goosed and did a new build with fresh parts. When I first built new pc I used the hd7750 but the system kept freezing so I replaced the card with hd7870.

The only things transferred between build were a Samsung 1tb hd,a Seagate (might be Maxtor) 350gb hdd plus a chassis fan.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I think I know what causes error now.... I installed GPU onto a 500w PSU and it worked for half an hour before getting the corrupted graphics. GPU minimum requirements are 550w.....

After that system started not booting I upgraded to a 750w PSU.

Thereafter couldn't get system to run with asus drivers installed no matter what I did (I have checked a few forums and tried all the don't install this / that tricks).

Tonight I borrowed a Nvidia GPU from a friend, stuck it in my machine and it worked straight of the bat. Even downloaded and installed own drivers.

So guess my GPU is toast and getting replaced......

Card was installed in a clean build and only drivers were intel igpu - Installed latest Asus drivers and card worked for a hour then started to malfunction. First in empire atwar I got graphic corruption so closed. Then in windows... After reboot system refused to start.

Now Installing asus card drivers causes instant crash...

Have replacement card coming today so will see.

The packaging states "minimun 550watt psu" and asus power supply checker recommends 650w for my system.

I know they over estimate but a 750w supply gives me some spare capacity for the future.

I bought from Amazon - they sent a replacement FOC before I returned the dead unit. Plus they pay for return of item. Cannot beat that!
