simply put : i want to upgrade my old cpu, which is an e6600 core 2 duo 2.4 ghz to a quad core. i use my pc mostly for gaming so i wanted the highest core 2 quad which is the q9650 but then after googling for some time, i dont seem to find any dimension 9200 with such a cpu upgrade . i know for a fact though that it supports Q6600. So would it support a q9650?

If you hopefully still own this Dell Dimension 9200 you could be in line for the CPU 771 to 775 Upgrade modification and basically you be able to add a CPU that was designed for servers with the equivalent processing power of a i-core 3 current computer

Have you successfully done it on a Dell Dimension 9200 that should have the WG855 motherboard? Was it easy to inject the required microcode? If so, it should be added to this list: http://www.delidded.com/lga-771-to-775-adapter/3/#dell
