Hi there, I am having a problem with setting up eyefinity.
I have 3 monitors (well 2 monitors and 1 tv) as you can see here:

I can only get two of the displays working, none of them have a DVI port.

I am using an xfx radeon 7970 black edition.

The way i have it connected:
One on HDMI
One on VGA (via adaptor from DVI)
One on a mini display adaptor - HDMI - Found here

If i try and use the third monitor it comes up with an error saying "unable to save display changes"

Im not sure if the adaptor is passive or not.

I can only get any two of the monitors to work at any one time (on a desktop)

I was wondering if any of you genius' had an idea on how to fix this/what im doing wrong?
thanks

-Josh

To run three monitors the adaptor has to be an active one not a passive.
I would double check if the one from pc world is active.
By the look of it it`s not as the monitor should report is max resolution and CCC should set it up with eye infinity. If passive if only sends a signal to the monitor but cannot receive the information from the monitor on what resolution to set it as in CCC.
Based on it`s max resolution and the Hz frequency.

Every card and connection has to talk to the monitor and in turn it tells the card what resolution it can do at what Hz ranges. A sort of table the graphics card takes note of. if it does not get that information it cannot save the settings in the table of resolutions or hz range. For the set monitor. Sort of saying here I am this is what I can do. it what we call hand shaking where it identifies it`s self with the correct settings.

Do you think if i had a HDMI to DVI one one
A DVI-Dvi on the other
and VGA-DVI on the third it would work?

I was thinking maybe i cant have more than one HDMI?
but yeah, im going to buy an active one on ebay if this doesnt work :)
