My computer only has 2 standard PCI ports install on the motherboard and im trying to get a

PCIe-x16 for my computer but cannot find where to buy it anywhere. I have someone who will

install it for me if i can get that one piece. Unless there is a way to get a graphics card for a

standard PCI port.Im about to break down and just get a new motherboard that will work with my

CPU but they run on a high price still...

That is what you will have to do. PCI slots are an integral part of your motherboard, you can't just add and remove them at will. If your motherboard is that old, I really don't see the use of upgrading to a new graphics card. AGP slots where common in times of single core CPUs.

the motherboard is only 3 yrs old. and the only graphic is the built in VGA port. the tower is a custom build that WTI students built from scratch and used as the primary computer for everything

The black connector in that picture should be PCI-E x16. Are you saying, your motherboard only has the white ones? It really doesn't make much sense to me. Unless you got a broken motherboard where somebody ripped it just out. Without a picture we can really just guess. As I and smeezekitty have said, your motherboard should most definitely have PCI-E x16

i do not have ether of the black connectors. they were never installed on the motherboard that is why im trying to get the part so i can have it installed. ill post a picture of the motherboard when i can though so can see

However, there's something known as a PCI - PCI-e riser but the PCI port just doesn't have that much bandwidth.
PCI ports have somewhere around 500MB/s bandwidth whereas PCI-e x16 ports have > 8GB/s bandwidth. Assuming the card works, you'll not get performance anywhere near what it's capable of.

You can technically buy a port (http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/FCI/10018783-10113TLF/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtWxQ3D3EXBN2S0aBX4psSlpxHiwJt%2f%252bdg%3d)
But it would be very very difficult to solder, and there would be no guarantee that it would actually have the circuits needed to make it work
