ASUS VG248QE red lines over 60hz

The monitor goes up to 144hz but when ever i go over 60 red lines appear all over the screen. I have no idea how to fix it and ive only seen one other post of someone with the same problem but the people just gave the guy crap about his hardware instead of helping him. Anyone know how to fix it?

What GPU, not all can drive a 144 monitor at it's resolution

What cable are you using? If you are not using a dual link dvi-d, or displayport connection, or a proper port on the video card, it will have difficulties. You may also find AMD cards have difficulty with 144hz, though usually are fine at 120hz.

Have you tried both DVI ports on that 7950? I don't believe both ports are dual link. Most 7950's do not have two dual link ports. And have you tried it at 120hz?

My 7950 is over a year old and only has one dvi port

The max i can go to is 60hz if i go any over the red lines appear so yes its the same at 120hz

Also for everyone else this is the gpu I have http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R7950_Twin_Frozr_3GD5OC.html and i have a i7 4770k

Might try different GPU, it may be that's the problem, or cable, a different good GPU will let you know if it's your GPU or it's the monitor itself

The thing is the only other gpu I have is a couple year old gt 220ish card. But i guess ill give it a try.

edit: its a geforce 210

Even with a different gpu it still has red lines appear over 60hz
