Hey everyone, first time poster here and fairly new to computer building as well. I recently got an amazing deal on a amd fx-8320 cpu at microcenter ($100) and when I looked on newegg I saw the shellshocker deal on the 970a-g46 motherboard and it had decent reviews so I picked it up.

Upon further research I realized that a lot of people were recommending to stay away from this board for 8 core processors, but that msi had released an update to fix this problem. First of all, if there is an update how do I find/install it (The msi specific liveupdate thing is a piece of crap). Secondly, will this make the board work fine with my 8 core or should I really invest in a new motherboard (I would really prefer not to if I don't have to as I am quite broke atm).

Anyways, thanks for the help and please be kind to this computer newb :)

Will it be ok if I don't overclock it or do I run the risk of damaging parts just by running the two together?
