which cpu will upgrade

I got a D925XCV motherboard,with a celeron D 2.66Ghz cpu. Is there in any case perhaps a better cpu that i can use? My graphics card do not accept this one.

Seeing your motherboard, it uses an old LGA 775 cpu socket. I would upgrade into a newer generation of processors, that means also upgrade to a compatible motherboard and memory. What graphics card are you using?

Your GPU is compatible with that graphics card. A celeron D is faster than some early P4 and Athlon XP's. It will bottleneck like freaking crazy though. I agree that it is time for a new system.
