I need help buying a video card for this pc: (btw, pretty outdated).

MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition
2GB Corsair XMS2 2x1GB DDR2
Samsung 200GB

Cooler Master GX Series 650W
Thermaltake Soprano Mid-Tower

The price can not be more than 100$ and can be both nVIDIA and ATI.

Hope you can help me.

The motherboard is (or better said was) very good, can't the cpu be a core quad or at least a better core duo?

About the gpu, a gt640 or a gtx650 are quite good for that price. A non OCed 650 costs about 80$

Bencenum, these cards are pci-e 3.0, it doesnt matter? They are compatible with the msi mobo?

AMD 7770 or R7 260 would be about the best at $100 max.

If the mobo is PCI-e 1.1, a 3.0 gpu will work with a bit of performance loss. PCI-e 1.0, no.

Sorry, your mobo is PCI-e1.0, so you would better forget about the r7 and the 650s. A GT 630 is pci 2.0, i don't know if it's compatible. Also the radeon 5550, a little bit cheaper and a worse, if you won't play newer games.
But remember that perhaps they aren't compatible neither. Good luck.
