I have a y580 levono laptop (intel hd4000 + gtx 660m).
When I use hdmi to connect it to an external display, I got this weird red (or other anomalous colors depending on the background) on the screen. The fact is they are not dependant on the screen. It seems they depend on the shape that my graphic is outputing. Because when I move or scroll pages, the dots, move along with them.
I have this problem only on some external displays, and on some others it works just fine.

Any idea what could be the reason of this problem? Any solutions?
This is an image of what it looks like:

Solution
this is a problem with your 660m, or the integrated graphics on your processor. make sure drivers are up to date, and if they are not screen dependant, try underclocking the discrete gpu with msi afterburner (DO NOT OVERCLOCK IT). if under warranty get the laptop replaced or repaired

The fact is everything works fine with some display monitors! but with others, I have this issue. All my drivers are updated. On the monitors that show no such problem, I have run very demanding games with no problem (e.g. COD 4 Ghosts). But on the others that do have this issue, even the desktop looks dotty.
