Hello everyone, i just bought DDR3 1600 mhz ram, but my motherboard (ASUS P7 H55 M-LX) doesnt support it, so i wanted to downclock it to 1333 mhz. will it work? or what other way can i use?
oh sorry i forgot to write about the problem: when i put a new ram my cpu just keeps restarting at the windows icon.
also my motherboard doesnt haev a DRAM frequency menu. even with updated bios

in the asus bios if it has intel xmp profile for the ram turn it on and see if the ram reads 1600 speed. the motherboard itself will set the ram to a working default speed. in cpu-z 1333 will show up a 677. ddr 1600 will show up as 800. 1066 is 533.

but pc just freezed on a windows logo.... what can i do now?

Try going into safe mode with networking, if you can get into that try opening a command prompt as Administrator

Start>All Programs>accessories> then right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator > when the window opens type in SFC /SCANNOW this will check for corrupt Win files
