Hey guys so I sent some of my old build back due to faulty and incompatible parts.

I now have the issue of buying RAM that is actually compatible with the rest of my build :/

The components I have at the moment are:
- Intel Core i5 4670K 3.40GHz Socket 1150 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor

- Toshiba 2tb 3.5 Int Sata 7200rpm Hdd

- Gigabyte GTX 760 OC Windforce 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card

- Antec Case VSK-4000E Tower ATX Black

- OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W Modular PSU -135mm Fan

- Samsung SH-224DB 24X Internal DVD Writer with SATA - OEM

- Asus Maximus VI HERO Z87 Socket 1150 HDMI ATX Motherboard
- Crucial 120GB M500 SATA 6Gbps 2.5 SSD

- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 Socket 775, 1150, 1156, 1155, 1366, AM2, AM3 Heatpipe CPU Cooler

- TP-Link N600 Wireless Dual Band Pci Express Adapter

Could somebody help me find RAM that is compatible with all of that, previously I bought a Crucial Ballistix Sport 2 x 8GB (16GB) 1333 MHz RAM and sent it back because apparently it was incompatible with my old Mobo. (I sent my previous Mobo back also due to bent CPU pins, but it was this motherboard: Asus Z87-K Socket 1150 HDMI DVI D-Sub 8-Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard).

I am looking for a 16GB RAM, whether that's 2 x 8GB or just 1 x 16GB I don't mind, however it does need to be compatible with the rest of my build.

I have tried searching for so long on what makes RAM compatible etc.. But I still have no idea. I've even used Gooeypc's Compatibility checker. But to be honest. I've got no idea what it was telling me.

I have been thinking about buying this RAM:
- Crucial 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Ballistix Sport Memory

But again I have no idea what makes it compatible or incompatible, so if there's anybody that could help me find 16GB RAM that will work with the rest of my build and maybe fill me in on what makes the RAM/Mobo incompatible, I'd be eternally grateful. :)

Thanks in advance

~Jake

Things to look for are what type, i.e. DDR2 or DDR3. Any mobo made within the last 5 years or so will use DDR3, including yours. Another thing to look for is to make sure the frequency of the RAM is supported by your MOBO. You have a very high end MOBO that supports a wide range of RAM frequency so don't worry about that. Lastly, you need to check the voltage. Haswell CPUs at stock voltages cannot deal with RAM over 1.5V. This either limits you to 1600 or higher frequency RAM that runs at low voltages. As long as that RAM is 1.5v or less you will be fine.

There's also things to look at like single, dual or triple channel support. Majority of mobos can support dual and single channel, as they will switch depending on if you have 1 or 2 sticks plugged in. For your sake dont worry about or buy triple channel.

Okay thanks, so you're saying that the Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 SDRAM 1600 MHz ( PC3-12800 ), 1.5v found here: http://www.ebuyer.com/389658-crucial-16gb-ddr3-1600mhz-ballistix-sport-memory-bls2cp8g3d1609ds1s00, will work with my motherboard?

(Sorry if posting links is against the rules, but I just want to make sure it's going to work. I've spent too much money on this already. haha). :)
