I walked into Microcenter just to get an idea on a build and walked out with $1600. in parts.
Once I got home I realized that I am not sure if some are compatible. The main 3 I'm worried about are in the title

1. Asus Maximus VI Hero Intel Z87
2. Intel I5-4670k
3. Corsair Vengeance 8gb 2133Mhz (CMZ8GX3M2A2133C11R)

4. Asus Geforce GTX760 2GB OC
5. Corsair Hydro H90 cooler
6. Corsair 540 Square case
7. Samsung 840EVO SSD 500GB

My main concern is that upon reading the MB user manual (what I could understand) It mentions many types of RAM but not the one I bought above.

I want to OC this machine ( learn how to, to be exact) and I would like to make sure these are ok parts to experiment with, but not ruin.

No. Pretty much RAM is RAM. Getting faster RAM or more RAM will not improve performance for everyday use or when gaming. Pretty much the only time getting faster RAM will help is when doing synthetic benchmarks. The only time getting more RAM will help is when you are using most of your current build (IE using 3 of 4 GB; using 7 of 8 etc). Getting 16 GB of RAM for video editing is good. If you are a casual video editor, just get the 8 GB. The system will only use what it needs.

One thing to know, you can overclock the CPU without overclocking memory. That's actually how most people overclock. Like me for example.
