The Xeon almost always have more cores 6 or higher (up to twelve I believe) most all have hyperthreading.
they are almost always more expensive. a 2011 CPU would be around the same as the Xeon

Thanks, the only thing i wasn't sure about was the processor, it seems cad workstations seem to lean towards Xeon's. But i cant seem to find a build with a decent processor and gpu.
