I am currently using an HDD for both storage and Windows. I have an SSD on the way. I was planning on unplugging the HDD while installing Windows on the SSD, have it boot from it and then plug the HDD back in. My question is, would having Windows on the HDD create any conflicts before I am able to format it?

Solution
No, not if you keep it unplugged. But don't expect to be able to use the pgms on the HDD from the Win7 installation on the SSD. They will need to be installed again. I presume you just want to do it this way in case the SSD installation fails... so you don't lose your HDD installation of Win7.
