When installing ubuntu, the windows bootloader is replaced with GRUB. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2

Since you have deleted ubuntu, you have also deleted your new bootloader, GRUB.

You will need to restore windows bootloader. Guide here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestoreUbuntu/XP/Vist...

windows7/8 also have a automatic "startup repair" option on the installation DVD that will restore the windows bootloader.
