if i am streaming audio over internet, is there any software or tool available for windows where I can determine the bit rate of the audio? Example can i prove that Sirius is really streaming at 192k bitrate?

Okay what that bitrate is depends on the quality of the music your providing. Assuming your just 'streaming my MP3s' then it depends how you 'coded' your MP3s into. For example, if you recorded your voice singing at 192K then you would be streaming at 192k or lower. If you recorded your voice at the default 128K then the max you can stream is 128K, not upscale to 192K without the recording sounding like trash tot he listener because of the 'lower quality' amount of data stored in it. So in the case of Sirius, the DATA (the music) stored on the servers is stored in 192K bitrate to stream out, what you 'receive' is all dependent on your connection and other factors.

Now if you 'thought' you were 'transmitting 192k of data' like when you look at your 'Internet Speed' this has nothing to do with that. If that helps.
