Funny you say that when I purchased mine I said I am not going to be using the motherboard graphics card I plan to buy one and that's the reason they gave me this motherboard. I know it says it supports it but every time I have needed to plug through it I get nothing, I only run stuff through my graphics card. I am pretty sure this motherboard does not support it, like i said never been able to run a monitor off it. Also you make sure to have yourself grounded or best is static guard wristband.

Did some research and this is why i think why

1 x D-Sub port
1 x DVI-D port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 (Note 2)
1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 (Note 3)

Resolution is so low most...

Resolution is so low most monitors these days are at least 1080p stock. I could be wrong though but that is my educated explanation and research that I see.
