It could be your PSU not having enough wattage. How many watts is your PSU?

try going into your firewall settings and seeing if they are allowed through your firewall if not then change the permissions

okay so it definitely happened again. there was also a green strip in the middle of the screen for a split second before it went black. its almost like my card is crashing or something

And now when I start it up there are like red bars on the screen and it's not going to the login page. Is my graphics card dying right now?

it is either that or psu or both, that psu is is a cheap build is there another pc you can either put your gpu in to see if it runs or get another psu to try and test in your system? most likely it is a failling psu

Now it's barely letting me get to the login screen and when it does it lasts for about a minute and then it will go black again. You think it's a failing PSU?

I have the same problem with my 7870 ghz edition the solution i found was trying my card in another computer lucky i have another one at hand switch to the pc without problems and ran furmark for three hours without a problem the first pc have a corsair 650 w tx i bought it when traveling to the states in 2008 since then i use it for all my needs like 2 hours a day between work and heavy gaming since last week its doing the black screen with any game and furmark forget about it like 1 minute and hang with artifacts and then black screen with the need to restart tried all drivers with no good then i did like i said tried in my second pc with the same psu corsair tx650 w but of ocurre newegg like 6 Months of use and furmark ran straight for three hours you should check the psu im going to get a replacement Peace!

Yeah I am going to get another PSU and see of that is the problem it makes sense that that is what is making the graphics fail
