Missing HD Space

I just downgraded from Windows 8 to OS 7, for after 8 months or so, I just could not buy into that system. Anyway, I have a 1TB HD, and after installing OS 7, I notice my HD states: 704/931 GB. That doesn't seem right, at all. Any ideas what could be taking up 225GB? I performed an OEM install of OS 7, and have not put anything back on to the HD, like my games etc.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks for the assistance; I installed and used WinDirStat, and it is stating that 188.8GB of the 225GB, is due to a folder named: Windows.old this has the following folders within it: Program Files (x86), Users, Windows, Program Files, Program Data, $Recycle.Bin - it also has a black square icon underneath those folders with "Documents and Settings" next to it, and a folder "PerfLogs", right underneath that...

Windows.old is your previous Windows installation. If you don't need anything from it, you can get rid of it in Disk Cleanup.
I believe is the wording is "Remove previous versions of Windows"
