hey everyone. i was wondering if there is a product out there that is a fan controller, but can also control the led's on said fans. the corsair link software and hardware intrests me because i like corsair products for their solid build quality, but im not sure that would work in this situation. if there is not already a product out there for this somebody could make a lot of money and make me a very happy modder. are there any alternate options other than just cutting the led's power cable? i love the led's a lot and they look great, but not so great at 3 a.m.
So heres the questions or problems really... i need to control my fan speeds and my fan lighting. i am interested in corsair link and would like to know more. i have 4 140mm fans and 2 120's. i also have a corsair carbide 500r in arctic white and am replacing the side mesh with acrylic and was wondering if there are any pointers for doing such a task. please let me know if there are any solutions to any of the riddles ive presented. it would also be nice for the "controller" (if external) to try to match the grille style of the case

Well yes there is a way but you would have to mod it yourself most likely. Typically the fan and the led are integrated with one set of wires. If the fan has a separate 2 pin wire for the led then of course you can do this. Otherwise, you will have to rewire it yourself. It isn't an issue of the controller, it is an issue of the fan.

thanks for the answer but i think that there has to be a way because the case i have (corsair carbide 500R) has a fan speed controller and an LED on/off switch. this could just be the fans that came with the case are special in some way because i tried my aftermarket fans (xigmatek crystal series 140mm with white led's) and the led switch would not affect them. i may just have to do some special wiring or just swap out the fans for non led's
any comments are welcome

yeah thats kind of what i was thinking i would have to do at this point. do you recommend any products for this or know anything that i would need? my case is also kind of dark besides the led fans. i was thinking either cold cathodes or led strips on the top and bottom. i know i have about 3/4" x 3/4" x 12" of room on top and bottom

thanks for the option. i was also looking at the nzxt hue system. im replacing the mesh on my side panel with acrylic so i guess it would be better to have more than just one color light. i use frozen cpu a lot
