Hello,

I'm going to get a new pc rig with a 1080p monitor (finally). I thought that I should connect my older monitor (20inch, 1600x900) too for showing important info while playing a game in the main monitor. The informations I refer to are cpu and gpu temps and something similar. Nothing else will be open.

The question: Is that going to reduce games performance?

*The card im going to buy is either gtx770 4gb or gtx780 3gb (both MSI TF if thats matter)

Following the answers above, maybe is it not recommended to do that? I just wanted to monitor temps to keep things safe and all, after all it is a new rig and I want it to last (at least 5 years, im optimist)

Connecing the 2nd monitor to the motherboard is better? Doing so will not reduce game performance from the 1st monitor connected to the dedicated gpu?
