So for the past few days I've been having some issues with my CPU getting way too hot (like nearing 100 C).I haven't had any trouble with the cooling at all up until now. Only recently I've noticed that the CPU dedicated fan isn't turning on very often or at all. I downloaded speedfan but it didn't recognize any fan controllers on my computer. I also looked in UEFI for fan control but I couldn't find it anywhere (damn windows 8). PLEASE I need help. I don't want my computer to damage itself.

Specs

MSI GS70 2OD

Intel i7 4700 HQ 2.40 GHz

16 GB RAM

OS Install Disk 2x 128Gb RAID 0

I dont know what you'd like tbh for my specs but any info at all is great

Well the fan might be clogged up with dust and what not. So if u feel alright taking the bottom plate off u could try cleaning the fan out. If that does not work the fan might be going dead. make sure u play in a well ventilated area. but i am sure u know this

you should probably do a maintenance cleaning of the dust every 4 or 6 months, I also have the same problem with my laptop before, I did everything from formatting etc. but dusting off the fan really works.

Hey guys thanks for the answers. Of course I don't know this for sure but I don't think the issue is it being clogged. Like right now, I'm browsing the web and downloading a game and the CPU fan IS running. Would there be any reason for it to shut off during higher demand of the computer?

Also my main thing right now is finding a way to change the fan speed right now. Can anyone help my navigate my UEFI BIOS? It's totally different from before. I haven't tried using it in windows 8 until now. I don't have an air can on me and I won't be able to run to get one for a few days.
