Hi.
I cloned my 320bg HDD on to a 750gb HDD using GParted (live cd) and at first it wouldn't recognize the drive as boot-able, so i did a boot repair on it using a boot repair live cd.

Now it boots fine but the first boot it said windows needs to be repaired so i put in my vista cd and did the repair computer, etc.

But my problem is vista loads up and all but i only have a light blue desktop and nothing else, no start bar, no shortcuts/icons, etc. and i cant click on any thing.
I cant remember for sure but i think there is a cursor not 100% on that tho.

Can any body hep me? :)

ps. it a laptop if that matters

Thanks
mike

sounds like it could be a corrupted OS. I recommend wiping that drive by formatting it and try the clone again.

Is Gparted OK for doing a clone. I used it because I had it and found that a few others were doing clones with it. I cloned all three partitions in the same order they were in except I made the main partition larger.
