I am asking actually about battery backup and not PSU, figured this would be close enough. I am trying to determine what to get for a battery back up on my system. I get power outages where I live, especially in the winter. I am not sure how to gauge exactly what to get for a unit as I am new to the idea of adding one to my home. If anyone can help it would be great!
I have a 1000W PC, currently running about 650 but after some upgrades I will be around 900 watts with room as recommended. What I want is a battery backup/protector that will allow me enough time to exit my programs and safely shut down if my power goes out. I also would like a unit that will keep my power steady in case of voltage drops and surges while being used. I really only need to power my monitor and the PC itself on the backup system. What should I look for in a system as components and what size or wattage should the unit be rated for? Thanks!
