Overclocking and graphics card upgrade advice....

Hello wondering if anyone could help , is it possible and worthwhile overclocking my AMD Phenon II x 4 965 3.4ghz, I have 8 GB ?

I would also like to upgrade my Graphics card from a current AMD Radeon HD 5900 to possibly a Radeon R7 260x, again would this be possible and worthwhile, I want to be able to play the latest PC games on a decent setting ( currently can just about cope on low settings ) any help would be appreciated

No actually it is going to be a downgrade going from a HD 5900 series to a r7 260x. HD 5950 and HD 5970 are quite strong, and you should be able to get at least decent performance out of them. You can try to overclock your processor to see if it is bottle necking the cards. Which one do you have HD 5950 or HD 5970?

I can play relatively comfortable on low settings, but struggle on medium, I have been trying to play the recently released Thief game, I am struggling on the lowest settings with that, have updated drivers etc, was just wondering what the weak point of my system is... thanks

Thanks, will give that a go, I was thinking it was more a hardware issue requiring some sort of upgrade, but looking at those links I should be getting decent performance
