RA Media Server demanding password I do not have.

I can log on to my computer fine as an admin, but once in, am stopped at every turn by RA Media Server. It demands its admin password and I don't have that password. It is blocking all program updates and preventing any changes to the system. Cannot choose a new recovery point after a disc reboot, cannot manage or delete the admin account, cannot create a new protected admin account. I would be happy not to be password protected at all since I am the only one ever using this computer.

I have followed every bit of advice I could find (including: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19489985.aspx ) on this problem and nothing is working. Dell won't talk to me in person because my warranty's up and I can't risk getting the same old advice for $129.

Is there anything new you can suggest? Thanks very much for your input!
