I have an old HP tower thats been sitting around for years not doing anything.
It's a g3200.uk, core duo 1.6ghz, 1gb ram running windows 7 x64.
I recently was given a Radeon 5770 GPU which I thought I would stick in the PC but after nearly 2 weeks of trying I've had no luck to get it working.
The PC has a PCI-e slot (not sure what version though?) so thought it was a simple case of sticking it in and bobs your uncle!
GPU is in and 6pin power cable attached. When the pc boots with the gpu in, all the fans kick in at full speed? Not sure what thats about??
I've disabled the onboard graphics, set the BIOS to PCI-e and have been trying to install CCC but with no luck.
It's says it's installed but has an error log at the end but doesn't say what? but it also looks as though the program hasn't installed properly as theres no CCC app to open up?
So... 2 questions really...
1. Why won't CCC install properly?
2. Why won't the PC see the 5770? (is the PC way too old, power supply not good enough?)
Any help is appreciated!!
