Hi, i'm pursuing bachelors in 3D Animation, Visual Fx and Film Making and i'm also a hardcore game freak.
I'm configuring a powerful PC for myself that gives merciless brutal performance for both gaming and slice all the upcoming titles like Watch Dogs, Witcher 3 etc like a piece of chocolate cake and for 3D rendering purposes too.
I'm stuck between whether I should go for 2-Way Crossfire on Sapphire R9 290x TRI-X OC 4GB DDR5, 512-bit or 2-Way SLI on ASUS GTX 780Ti 3GB DDR5 384-bit?

Also please suggest me a good power supply for the respective combo.
Thank You. :)

I've always been a fan of nVidia, they are higher priced but you pay for what you get. For that setup I would recommend a 1000watt PSU. Corsair, Silverstone, Seasonic, Thermal Take, EVGA, Antec, Rosewill all make good psus.

check this out it is benchmarks that have cfx and sli setups. i would say 780ti sli just because less headache and heat, but if you do 3d rendering you could use the extra vram so i dont know. if it was me i would go with sli mainly because of shadow play and adaptive vsync...and when the gsync monitors come out(no more fps drop woot) nvidia is going to be the way to go especially for 2-4 card setups...amd is supposed to be sume kind of third party software to support gsync as well but you know how amd are with drivers and software booooo

if you have an 1150 set up you will be drawing 54.67a off the single volt rail max load
this one is perfect for you 70a on the 12v rails so nice head room and xfx are quality builds tier 1,2

if you want even more headroom because your tryin to set the worlds highest clocks here is one with 87a

If you can swing it the best of both worlds would be the titan black, its good for gaming and for 3d work as well.

So if I choose 2x(sapphire R9 290x Tri-X OC 4GB DDR5, 512-bit) then also i'll be well off with a 1000W PSU?

then you will be good to go with either one. imo all you need is the 850w as it provides more than enough a to your system but if you want to overclock every thing in your sytem and raise the voltages on ram/cpu/gpu by a hefty amount go with the 1050w to be safe
