I just built my rig last night, (took me about 4-6hrs omg..) but I got all the parts to fit and when I did a test boot the motherboard (Asus Z87 Pro) Led booted, the graphics card lit up (GTX 780), Chasis power and reset switch works (NZXT 410), but my Asus blue ray/cd/dvd drive wouldn't open. I also tried hooking an HDMI cable to my monitor off the motherboard (I assumed the gpu wouldn't be functional yet) and I didn't get any signal. Did I do anything wrong?

ok I'll try it, I was wondering just now what the difference is between the yellow satas and the dark brown satas on the mb? I have my disc drive on a yellow and was wondering if that was the cause, other than possible no power... when I press the ejection on the drive it doesn't light up or anything.... SSD on dark brown, HDD and Cd on Yellow satas both 6gb/s

I'm going to check that and post update when I get home this evening, completely forgot about that >.<
Should I move my ssd from the brown sata to yellow sata on the MB?

Update: CD drive works and everything seems to boot, but when I try to hook it up to a monitor (vga/dvi/hdmi) it shut the monitor off saying on the monitor entering power saving mode.... Help? I've tried taking the graphics card out and doing it with just the board but the same result happens. I'm using a 760Watt psu and a gtx 780 gpu.

I'm starting to think the motherboard is the problem. I've made sure all the plugs are in and the psu works just fine.
Do you think it's worth bringing to a local computer repair center like microcenter and get it fixed there?

After reading the manual over I found that the mb actually tells you what is wrong, and quickly fixed it. (Ram sticks needed to be in other slots).... Thank you everyone for your input and advice!
