Memory supported per slot

Solution
Yes it will. You can actually put a single 16 GB stick in a slot if you want.

2 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2400(O.C.)/2133/1866/1600/1333 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
Support AMD Memory Profile (AMP) memory
* The Max. 32GB memory capacity can be supported with DIMMs of 16GB (or above). ASUS will update QVL once the DIMMs are available on the market.

Yes. Agreed. Like what Someone Somewhere said, you should get two sticks. There is a little difference between dual and single channel. I personally would get two simply for stability so you don't mix RAM sticks down the road.
