Hey guys, I recently ran into a problem with my GPU freezing up completely when under load from rendering specifically 3d graphics, causing the screen to turn white / brown / streaked colours It never black screens and programs continue to run normally in the back ground, but the screen freezes completely.

The PC was built in November and has been working fine since then, bar a rather persistent on and off issue with a network card driver.

I was able to replicate the crash in Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3, but weirdly my computer has been working perfectly fine outside of 3d rendering and I played South Park Stick of Truth for 10hours with no problems.
Using Furmark Burn In stress test, the GPU would always crash in around a minute, max two minutes.

Without underclocking the GPU crashed at around 60degrees.

Underclocked the GPU crashed at around 53 degrees, in the same amount of time sometimes sooner.

After Googling the problem i'm having for hours its been mentioned that it could be a PSU problem, which would save a lot of time considering im currently trying to return my rather expensive graphics card.

I have literally no idea what is wrong with it and I'm basically just guessing that its the GPU at this point, so any insight into this issue would be much obliged.

I am running

ASRock Z87M EXTREME4 Motherboard
Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core CPU
Asus R9280X-DC2-3GD5 GPU
Corsair Hydro Series H100i Cooler

On a 650W Seasonic M1211-650W PSU

Any help on what the issue could be or what to try would be very much appreciated.

Hey thanks for your reply, I don't have any other PCI cards installed, I'm not knowledgeable about pcs so it would help a lot for an idea of what to adjust the gt voltage offset to.

OK this is really weird. There are no options in the BIOS for the GPU anywhere, I have the latest version of AMD catalyst installed to use as the driver, but the auto detect installer never worked.

Furthermore, when I run the auto detect driver installer (with new drivers installed) it now says "your drivers are up to date" and shows my graphics hardware as 0x1002 - 0x6798 PCIE.

Starting on page 64 of your motherboard manual, it explains how to use the UEFI BIOS and it's features. There is an option to bring up a UEFI Guide which should help explain which settings have a direct effect on the PCIe lanes - you're looking to create a positive voltage offset, I would start with the minimal offset allowed, see if it doesn't help. Work up a few steps (minimal increase each time) if necessary. If after three for four increases of the offset, you are still having issues, we'll go from there... any questions, ask away here.

One other thing... what version of BIOS are you using?
Auto detect is a little buggy at times and often graphics gets ignored (I can't say why that is, just an observation)
