Can i crossfire a XFX 6870 with a XFX 6870 Black edition?

i have the standard edition and ive found the black edition on ebay for £40 will they work in crossfire?

Yes, but they will run at the speed and memory of the slower card.

I'm a little late, but it will do it automatically. If you won the card, that seems like a pretty good price.

The way Radeon setup their crossfire is that as long as its the same BASIC GPU you can crossfire it. So, technically you could crossfire at 6850 with a 6870, or a 5850 and a 5870, or a 6950 and 6970, and they will just automatically run at the speed of the slower card.

Its a little different than the way Nvidia setup their dual card solutions, which have to be the same GPU.

Brands, clock speeds, memory doesn't matter as much, as both cards will run at the lowest setting, be it a slower speed or reduced memory.

Nah it went up to nearly £70 so didn't bother, thank you anyway
