I was wondering what is better? The title pretty much asks it all.

I understand its a very broad question, but please discuss.

In general, one strong card will always be better than two weaker ones. That being said, if you can afford a top tier GPU (770 would fit the bill), then SLI is pretty awesome.

One $200 GPU

Why.

A. you can upgrade to 2 $200 gpu's in future if you have the right mobo.
B. You don't need to purchase a motherboard with SLI/Crossfire 2x 8x capabilities(minimum)
C. Some games do not respond well to using SLI/Crossfire

Would you like a suggestion of cards in the $200 price range to look at?

SLI/ crossfire configuration is not that successful for lower end budget cards. Also, 2 cards require more power supply, you cant add more in future and you face common xfire/sli problems. So for that budget, a single costlier card is better.
