Ok so im having a problem where i get these horizontal lines that look a bit like screen tear when gaming so i contacted amd support and they told me it was the dvi adapter so i bought a vga dvi-i dual link cable and now it wont support the resolution it looks stretched and blurry and when i use the monitors auto adjust it cuts off some of the screen i have also tried a dvi-i single link but this still produced the lines problem what can i do to fix this?

Single link and dual link just has to do with the max supported resolution. Single link is good for up to 1920x1080 and Dual link is for everything above that.
Now when your on VGA, VGA technically only supports up to 1024x768, usually there isn't a problem increasing it but every once in a while, a monitor/GPU just doesn't want to do it.
What ports does your monitor have? If you can you want to use a straight up digital connection (DVI-D, HDMI, DP) unless all your monitor has is VGA.
