Granted, the performance of PCI-e SSD's is much greater than SATA III, but the ratio of increased performance to increased cost is WAY out of balance. I am also aware that the PCI-e SSD is primarily targeting the enterprise market, but as I stated earlier, the cost is sometimes literally more than a thousand times greater than a high performance SSD A very good example of this is the Fusion iodrive octal http://www.solidstateworks.com/ioDrive-Octal.asp?gclid=CLns1-ab_LwCFYc7OgodHicA5A 10.24TB of storage at $124,000.00. And no, that isn't a typo. It really does cost over a hundred thousand dollars. This is an extreme case, but there are countless drives out there approaching 10,000.00 and more. So my question: "What makes this extreme price happen? Are they made with 24k gold?! There has to be something that drives the cost up so much!"
