Hi folks of Tom's Hardware!
I have recently built a computer, and these are the full specs:
Corsair RM850W PSU
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO, Socket-1150
Kingston DDR3 HyperX Beast 8GB 2400MHz
Intel Core i7-4770k
Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500GB BK OEM
Noctua NH-U14S CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GeForce GTX Windforce 780 3GB
Corsair Carbide 500R Midi Tower
And what I am experiencing, is that my CPU is 30-38 celsius degrees when idling - having just booted up the PC.
If I run a Prime95 standard stress-test they IMMEDIATELY launch up to 60-70...
Is this bad? I bought the "expensive" (to me) CPU cooler, to avoid overheating my CPU! So I am slightly scared of me having installed the CPU cooler wrong? I -really- hope not, because I was scared of doing anything wrong while installing the entire computer, so I would hate to have to reseat everything.. Do you think it is a normal temp, or is this definitely wrong?
Thanks up front..
Dan
