In the driver dropdown menu (UPD PCL5.7.0 64bit) for this type of printer is the only option 600/300dpi. Highest resolution - 1200dpi there is not displayed. Yet, in the old OS WinXP32 was available ProRes1200. Why is not there? 64bit OS does not allow it? Or what's behind it?
thx for reply
Peter

did you download the newest drivers for the printer from the manufacturers website?
Winodws 64bit may be using a generic printer driver.

sure, HP has only UPDriver for that type of printer. (Many times is better way to use 32bit version of Windows - some sw, scanners, other hw...)

Then the problem is your printer is too old man.
Are there any 64-bit versions of the driver?

Did you try getting one thru windows update?
This isn't windows fault really, it's the companies for not making up to date drivers.
And also HP switching to mainly using universal print drivers.
And you might want to try getting in contact with HP about this.

I see, is it a topic for HP...
WUpdate get only that UniversalDriver pcl5, not 6 one (which was usable with xp_32).
It's the same policy as with xp right now - end of support, buy new os. Even all worked fine...until now.
Perhaps it is better to close the case.
thx for reactions
